The people and organizations behind the film

Together with committed co-organizers, Filme für die Erde and WWF Switzerland are showing SIX INCHES OF SOIL throughout German-speaking Switzerland and at locations in neighboring countries. In the film, director Colin Ramsay follows three people at a turning point in their lives: Anna Jackson, an eleventh-generation farmer on an arable and sheep farm in Lincolnshire; Adrienne Gordon, who grows a variety of vegetables on a few hectares in Cambridgeshire; and Ben Thomas, who raises grass-fed cattle in Cornwall and wants to work with natural processes instead of replacing them.

SIX INCHES OF SOIL addresses issues that are also present in Swiss agriculture. It connects to current developments and practical examples. The film combines personal stories with knowledge about agroecology and shows how agriculture not only produces food but also shapes the future.
