Our Sustainability

The environment is important to us, which is why we are continuously optimising our ecological footprint. We focus on keeping the people and the environment healthy. In order to do that, we work with the criteria listed below:

Fair

Fair conditions are standard with us. This applies to us as well as to all of our partners with whom we work. This means: safe and healthy working conditions, limitation of working hours, payment of an appropriate living wage, no child labor, no forced labor.

Social

In collaboration with the social institution IG Arbeit: Not far from our studio in Lucerne, a dedicated team of disabled people and carers is busy confecting our products. So, every online shop order is prepared and shipped by them.

IG Arbeit integrates people with mental difficulties into working life. The institution also educates, supports and coaches people to keep a job or to get back to a career. We are proud of this cooperation :)

In collaboration with the social organisation IG Arbeit: Not far from our studio in Lucerne, a dedicated team of people with disabilities and their caregivers assemble our products, including packaging and labeling. They also handle the production and shipping of every order.

IG Arbeit integrates people with mental health challenges into working life. They provide training, support, and coaching to help people retain their jobs or re-enter the workforce. We are proud of this collaboration :) – www.igarbeit.ch

 

 

Organic / Bio

We use this term to describe materials that are made from organically grown raw materials. For us, this includes organic cotton, which requires significantly less water than conventionally grown cotton. Organic cultivation also means that no pesticides or pesticides have been used and no genetically modified plants have been used.

Swiss Made / Developed in Switzerland

BADI Culture develops in Switzerland. We develop and design in our Lucerne studio, which is located in the interim use of the Neubad network.

Made in EU & RSA

In addition to South African manufacturers, we also produce in Portugal and Italy. The advantage of EU production is good working conditions and access to sustainable materials. The materials are sourced locally or from neighbouring countries, and shorter transport routes lead to more environmentally friendly transport.

In South Africa, we work with smaller manufacturers. We want to support craftsmen as well as small to medium sized enterprises. As mentioned above, we source materials as locally as possible. What is made in South Africa is largely made of materials that have been manufactured in South Africa.

In addition to South African manufacturers, we also produce in Portugal and Italy. The advantage of EU production is good working conditions and access to sustainable materials. We source our materials locally or from neighbouring countries. Here, too, shorter transport routes result in more environmentally friendly transport.

In South Africa, we collaborate with smaller manufacturers. Our aim is to support artisans as well as small to medium-sized businesses. As mentioned above, we source our materials as locally as possible. Most of the products manufactured in South Africa are made from materials produced in South Africa.
