Looking for a stylish scarf? How about yellow? The scarf measures 70 x 70 cm and is made of 100% organic cotton and is GOTS-certified – quality is important. The design originates from Switzerland and it was manufactured in Italy.
The pattern is inspired by the Lucerne Rüess and Lake Lucerne. It reflects the movements of the water as well as the surrounding topography.
Designer Flavia Bienz has united two worlds here. Through her graphic rendering with wax pastels, charcoal, and watercolours, the pattern reminds us of African wall paintings.
The Ubomi series consists of five patterns:
Amanzi - the water (blue)
Umhlaba - the Earth (orange)
Ingca - the grass (green)
Isanti - the sand (yellow)
Amatye - the stones (black)
And the names? Each of the designs have a Xhosa name. Xhosa is one of the widespread indigenous Bantu languages in South Africa and is among those with the most click consonants.
